supplements and weight lose

newbie pa po ko when it comes to body building, i weigh about 205lbs (according sa last weigh-in ko).. i have a question lang po, is it okay if i take supplements? as of now im using amino2222 2tabs before workout and 2tabs after workout. and im planning to buy ON whey gold standard or promatrix 7... my program is compound and more on legs and i do superset sometimes... im switching workout plan every month though compound parin ang theme.... aim ko po is to lose weight but to gain strength po...

any suggestions, tips, o payo will help.. thanks more power PBB!:D

  • Hmmmm.... its good that you're focusing on compound exercises. how long have you been working out? I wouldnt recommend jumping into supplements agad kung bago ka pa lang nag woworkout mas maigi na kuhanin mo lahat ng nutrients na kailngan ng katawan mo sa normal food. kamusta ang nutrition intake mo? gawa ka sir ng journal dun sa may journals section, lagay mo dun current workout routine, diet plan, and goals (do you want to be muscular big or perhaps on the leaner side) etc... para makita ng mga masters natin dito and matulungan ka sa pag modify ng routine mo if needed. :)
  • one year na ko sa gym but pahinto hinto din... bumalik lang ako recently sa gym following "alwyns strength program"... kakatry ko pa lang mag amino 2222, 1st day today... nutrition intake uhmmm im not exactly maintaining any diet... basta i assure lang na nakaka consume ako ng eggs (with yolks) 2 to 3 pcs a day, i've cut rice na rin siguro 3 to 4 cups a day nalang... goal ko is nasa leaner side coz im planning to join law enforcement profession... so far okay ang workout plan ko i have noticed na may improvements sa legs especially lunges (considering na im 205lbs) and sa shoulders...

    pag naka time post ako ng journal ko hindi pa kasi ako nakaka check ng mga measurements ko, may format ba para sa thread na yun?

  • Hmmm... nothing wrong naman actually sa pagtake ng amino though i personally prefer whey protein supps than amino tabs. Wala naman format about dun sa journal, post ka lang dun ng mga nabanggit ko sa taas tapos kung may pics ka mas, try mo check ung ibang journals ng iba para magkaidea ka kung anu lagay mo. Oh and make sure you include cardio exercises sa routine mo since your trying to lose weight. we'll wait for your journal :)nga pala when you said "alwyn" si alwyn cosgrove ba tinutukoy mo?
  • yes boss alwyn cosgrove... ginaya ko lang yung 52 weeks program nya na sa "new rules of lifting" by lou schuler and alwyn cosgrove... i dunno kung merong copy nung e-book nya dito sa forum di ko pa na check but i have a copy of it... gagaya nalang ako sa iba bout my journal... salamat sir, post ko as soon na makumpleto ko yung mga stats ko... and i really need advice bout sa nutrition and diet, mahina ako sa pag plan ng meals eh T_T

    First get these 3 fundamental supplements

    Multivitamin
    Avoid off the counter products. Take bodybuilding multivitamins like on(1.2k)or animal (2k) good for about 2 months
    This is to maximize the efficiency of your body

    Fish oil
    Will aid in overall health and lose fat. Also good for skin.

    Whey
    Great for post workout to avoid muscle loss. Also good as replacement meal. Will make it easier to hit your macros

    current weight is 205lbs. how about your height? kung gusto mo talaga strength mag compound exercise ka nga 5x5. i would recommend creatine and whey muna na supplement. pero eto iwasan mo baka umasa ka sa whey at hindi ka kumain kasi nga diet ka, hindi pwede yun, pag may workout ka mag load ka ng carb para may energy and strength ka pa rin. calorie deficit tayo kasi diet ka.
  • mga sir, dba mahalaga din yung maganda absorption ng body? kc kahit high protein mga kinakaen mo, nadidigest sya pero ndi nman naabsorb mxado at nilalabas lng....

    usually ang pinaka magandang window ng absorption is after workout. kaya nga pinapayo ng iba pag katapos mag workout inom ka agad ng mabilis matunaw or ma absorb na source ng protein and carbs.

    Personally I don't use any supplements like that for my workout. I only do light workouts not the heavy weight lifting etc. I use natural high protein foods like, egg and oyster mushroom. I got some fitness training from a fitness trainer and then I started my workouts and exercises according to the guidelines. Now I am getting the desired fitness results.

    According to me supplement is not good for health. You should take something like fruits ans butter, etc.

    since nagsisimula ka pa lang, ok muna walang supps but i suggest na take ka ng vitamin c and vitamin b complex. vitamin b complex is the one in charge for efficient metabolism at the cellular level.
