HIIT or LISS (Hit or Miss)

Hi Brothers! I know this topic was discussed all over this forum, but I just want to consolidate all your thoughts, observation, or researches reagarding this two cardio training techniques.

I myself do more HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training, as it is more challenging and consumes lesser time. I also like the fact that certain studies proves that it causes lesser muscle breakdown that is why sprinters looks different from endurance runners. Although I also like doing LISS - Low Intensity Steady State from time to time because it is relaxing and the cruise is enjoyable plus the fact that it will also helps with fat loss.

How about you guys? How do you use HIIT or LISS? and which do you prefer?

Simple lang bro, 1.5 hours or more (depende sa kasama) of running at my 60-70%, maintaining a steady heart rate, ang challenge ko lang sa sarili ko "no rest". I do this outside the gym para maappreciate ang kapaligiran and yung kasama na din  :yahoo: haha. Sa MOA Complex ko ito ginagawa.

so meaning 1.5min ka lang nag jog then walk then1.5min ulit na jog and so on... mas effective ba sya sa hiit in terms of fat loss or at par or pano?

Sorry bro..should be 1.5 hours..LISS are longer in duration. Steady state yung bro ng 60-70% ng run so walang rests and changes in intensity. For Fat Loss they are both effective, pero LISS tends to break down muscles too, so may masasacrifice bro na gains.

Ang need is may slight increase in heart rate, so if sa jog bro nagiincrease naman ang heart rate, that will do. Pero what I do is a lil bit faster than jog, pero nung over weight ako, jog pa lang kabog na ang dibdib

IMO , there's no harm done doing LISS in terms of gains, unless you'll do it on a daily ( meaning kina career mo na para nag reready sa marathon), you can try doing it once or twice a week. Though for me, mas ok ang HIIT in terms of fat loss, di mo pa kailangang tumakbo nang isang oras, hehe!

    Experiment ka na lang siguro

    1. Weight training w/out cardio

    VS

    2. Weight training w/ cardio

Iba-iba kasi ang bawat tao. Kahit may scientific studies pa supporting or disputing the positive/negative effect of cardio, ikaw pa rin ang makapagsasabi kung ok ba o hindi

Add ko na din, if ang nature ng Job includes direct labor like walking for long periods of time..climbing stairs...and the like. Mas ok if lesser na ang additional cardio workouts. Tama..talaga na case to case basis, at sa reaction na din sa katawan.
