Check your form; width grip of arm on the bar, the wider the grip from your normal shoulder-width, the harder to press bar. Don't cheat, by pressing the bar up with leg power, this isn't Push Press, this is Standing Military Press.

Check bar path; if the bar travels way forward/backward and you end up on the top position with your arms leaning forward/backward on the weight of the barbell. The displacement on the bar from the normal path(not 'exactly' straight path.) (*Note on the quoted 'exactly'. Check videos around the internet on Mark Rippetoe teaching PRESS movement.) can put a 70lb barbell heavier than it is to the lifter. It's a matter of breaking your form to compensate and lift the weight up no matter what!

Try deloading the weight for Standing Overhead or Military (which you may ever prefer) Barbell Press around 10-20%. Then start by trying to press the weight as explosively as possible on the deloaded weight (without sarcificing form) as you come back and up from the weight you last plateaued in.
