Do we really need to spend money on Vitamins?

In my honest opinion. No!!! If you don't agree. I'll ask you this question. Have you ever known someone dying because of not taking vitamins? Of course the vitamin companies what you to think, you do. And that is why they spend millions if not billions of money on advertising. To get you to think you need them. To be honest,,,I fell in this group, that believe them that I need to take vitamins. And I did take-fish oil, Vit C, D, Multi-Vit, Calcium, Glucosamine with Chondroitin, etc-etc. I did this for decades back when I was working in the US. Bros' when I retired and move back to the Phils. and ran out of Vits' that I brought with me. I went to the malls to check what it would cost me to replace my supply of beloved Vits. My jaw hit the floor:jd: the cost was in the thousands!!!!!:angry: And by the way I was forced to exercise because my asthma came back:angry: That is when I hit the gym!!! I was too old to start jogging at 58. So what the heck, build my old body so the chicks might take a 2nd look at me:biggrin: Well Bros!! It has been months that I haven't taken any Vits. And if anyone should feel and know the difference, that will be me cause I'm 61 years young. It did not make a difference in my workout. I can still lift the weights I lifted even without my beloved Vits. I just made sure I ate a well balance meal consisting of protein, vegetables, rice/carbs. And replaced my Vits with PM7 and about 4-6 tablespoon of pure wild Honey and black coffee as pre-workout go juice and I'm good to go. Now I want to clarify, that many on this board swears by taking Vits. My Brothers,,,that is absolutely fine and well as long as you need it and you can really feel the difference in the gym....I would rather have the beginners spend their hard earned cash on BodyBuilding supplements. Eat a well balanced meal and you satisfy your Vits requirements. Or go see a doctor and get tested for Vits deficiencies.

Sorry for the long post. I don't post much unless I could really provide wisdom/knowledge or experience.

    Ako ang opinyon ko dito may purpose ang pagtatake ng multivitamins+minerals supplements. Specially during a cut, may mga tao na paulit ulit lang kinakaen day by day for some reason, or kung hindi araw2x nakaka kain ng gulay at prutas ang isang tao.
    I agree halos hindi mo talaga mararamdaman yung multivits and minerals sa gym, but ako personally I don't take this for that reason, for overall health and wellness lang ito. Plus isa na din ito sa source ko ng Vitamin C.

    Magkakaiba needs ng mga tao.
    But I don't see this as a waste of money, I'm spending less than P3.00 per tab of Kirkland Multi, mas ok na kaysa ibili ko ng yosi.
    Hehe.

    But if you're sure that you get all the nutrients you need in your daily meals, by all means save that P3.00!

  • Very useful rin para sa mga taong mahilig kumain ng hindi micronutrient dense foods like fast foods. I agree sa cutting important rin dahil minsan kulang yung calories to get your micro requirements.

    At sa mga taong hindi mahilig sa gulay, mas mura pa nga ang pag take ng multi araw araw kesa bumili ng gulay

  • Nasa tamang pag gamit din ng mga vitamins at supplements, kung kumakain ka ng gulay araw2 at i mean lahat ng klase ng gulay eh ok lang, pero depende sa diet yan sir rene, sa mga taong cutting, steam breast,kamote,brownrice,itlog,tuna in can,saging kung yan lang pagkain paulit ulit kulang sa bitamina, tulad sa keto diet, pro prito karne itlog cheese etc, walang gulay at prutas na involve, eh aba pano na ung micronutrients? Pro mainam padin kumain ng gulay talaga, gulay importante kesa sa prutas,
  • Ginagamit ang vitamins kasi hindi namna talaga natin nkakain lahat ng kailangan natin. Sa panahon ngayon kapag may trabaho tayo mas madali kumain sa mga fast foods kasi mas mura. Madami din sa atin ayaw sa kulay tsaka prutas. Mas maiiwasan ang sakit kapag tama din ang vitamins and minerals sa katawan. May mga tao lang na excessive binibiling vitamins lalo na mga lampas sa list ng A-Z hinahnap parin ng iba

    pag whole foods kasi kumpleto ng macro at micro

    pero, oras nga mag gym minsan singit lang, un pa kayang oras mag luto ng pagkain na magbibigay sayo ng mahigit 20 na micronutrient at macro na papasok sa plan mo per day. hassle

    + ako lalo na sa cut,dahil sa limited food choices and/or amount di talaga kaya kunin lahat sa food at baka um-over sa cal reqt.

    We always have a choice naman to supplement with it or not heheheh.

    Do we have a link/ thread kung saan at ano ang mga supplements na ma-advise nyo na DAPAT natin i-take as body builders at kung ano ang benefit nito whether you're cutting/ bulking?

    mga ka-PBB, im just wondering, pinag sasabay sabay nyo ba ang inom ng mutli vitamins nto, ng fish oil at ng calcium/vitamin D?

    ok lang kaya yung ginagawa ko na sabay sabay sila lahat bago matulog? (3softgel ng FO, 1 multiV at 1 Calcium/VitD) thanks

    para sa akin depende sa lifestyle or status mo sa society. kung mayaman ka na walang bisyu aside sa mag gym and you can always eat what you can when you can - fruits, veggies, different kinds of meat and fish everyday then there would be no need to take on multivits, kahit sa VitC lang despite our bodies don't create this but since you eat fruits then di na kailangan. remember that too much of anything is bad, so if you fit in this criteria and you take diff kinds of multivits pa, kawawa ang liver mo kc hindi ma fi.filter lahat ng tinitake mo.

    pero kung average person ka lang na limited ang kina kain mo araw-araw dahil nag titipid, tapos you spend most of your time sitting in the office and stressed ka pa palagi. I think it is essential you would include multivits in your diet para lang ma complete ang essential nutrients na kailangan ng katawan mo. if you don't, it can cause probs. in your body because you lack vit b, vit k or vit c - you get the picture.

    Kawawa ang liver? Hindi mafifilter lahat?

    Excess vitamins will just be excreted through urine.
