Bony ectomorph no more!

Hey I'm Kyle, an ectomorph @ 134lbs. 6 months ago I was only around 105 lbs. Decided to improve my looks and took action. For the first 6 months, I was focusing on adding more mass. It wasn't consistent during the entire 6 months, but I still got to where I need my weight to be. Since I have developed a slightly big tummy, I am now hitting the gym to start sculpting my body. Still a newbie in the gym, still in the learning stage. Whatever help/suggestions, I'm very much open to it, especially from fellow ectomorphs who already achieved their goals.

I'll post a photo of mine soon.

I tried that before, at least 2 cups of rice and 1 serving ng ulam every for the first 3 months, and nangyari I gained too much weight at nabigla tuhod ko sa bagong weight, di makalakad ng 15 minutes na di sumasakit tuhod hahah. Puro fats ata ginain ko nun. Did research and it was advised that I minimize the rice. Kahit half cup lang ang rice, at least 2 servings na ang ulam. Pero may times na 1 cup nakakain every meal, lalo pag sobrang sarap pagkakaluto ng ulam hehe.. What do you think, should I increase my food intake or just take mass gain supplement?

Also, if someone could enlighten me on this, I have been searching for an answer but found none:

I am now in the max of my BMI for my body height, I want to bulk up more (maybe reach 140-145 lbs), but what will then happen is I will be marked overweight on my BMI once I hit that weight. Is it really okay or the BMI won't really matter or it's not that accurate? Sorry if I'm confusing you and thanks for all your help!

^ never use BMI as an indicator/guide of progress if you're into weight lifting

Just as I thought, gusto ko lang maconfirm from someone who is into body building :sport: Thanks for clearing it up! Much appreciated.
  • dati yun, 135lbs ka na ngayon kaya your food intake must also go up. don't blame your weight gain sa pagsakit ng tuhod, your knees are weak kaya sya sumasakit. since nagbubuhat kana ngayon mapapalakas mo na yan :)

food lang kelangan mo, takot ka nga maggain ng weight tapos mass gainer pa ang alternative mo? think about it brah. waste of money yun sa ngayon.

also forget BMI, that is for regular people. try to get as big as possible (not fat as possible). lagi din ako overweight e pero all muscle nga lang. i can lift heavy, sprint full speed, quick on lateral movements, drag and tackle people on the court (JK) and more... hindi naman ako mukhang overweight :)

Very much appreciated ang advise mo badass_vinch. Yeah, weak nga knees ko, di kasi nag eexercise nun while trying to gain weight. Nasanay sa old weight.

Ngayon di na ako takot mag gain, na clarify na yung tanong ko about BMI. Kung di naman pala magmamatter yun if your bulking up, then all the way na ako sa pag gain. Mas seseryosohin ko pa ngayon. I'll keep my journal updated sa progress ko.

So-so effort equates to So-so results.

Add ko sa sinabi ni vinch about weight, does it matter nung na reach mo ung target weight mo? when you look in the mirror are you satisfied with how you look and feel? malamang hindi kasi hindi ka consistent gaya ng sinabi mo.

Make a decision and stick with it, put in the hard work and the results will come sooner or later brah.
