Strength or Endurance ?

If you have to choose between the two, what will it be ?

For me, I will go with Strength

    There are different kinds of strength, among them is strength-endurance so why settle for one when you can have both hehe. I'd pick that one in combination with speed-strength for the sake of practicality and versatility.

    Yeah, if you train for strength, you also gain "some" endurance

    If you train for endurance, you also gain "some" strength

    But you can't maximize both



    An example would be sprinters and long-distance runners. A sprinter runs faster but don't last very long. Stronger quadriceps can make you run faster


    Another example would be the Cheetah. It is the fastest land animal but it cannot sustain that speed for a long period. They can run up to speeds of 112 to 120 km/h but for a distance of 500m only. They can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3 seconds.

    For my BB needs as an ectomorph, I'd go for strength - heavy stack low reps.

    as compared to muscular endurance - light stack high reps.

    si endurance tangay tangay si strength in any time, pero etong si strength madaling mapagod kya nabibitawan lage si endurance....
    we're using these forces in our everyday life at di lng sa pag ggym.
    evaluate ur selves guys and you'll see.

    powerlifter lang..wala atang pang bodybuilder..kasi bodybuilder = size :D

  • For now i'll choose strength, though ang goal ko tlga is both, and i try to train my body on both. :)

    ako din endurance....gusto ko makarating sa level limit ng endurance with my full strength :)
  • Endurance for me like energizer, strength for a while only kahit gaano ka kalakas mababalewala kung hindi ka tatagal
  • gusto ko un sumagot ng y get one if you cud have both! hehe. a little bit of everything is good pero kung kaya mo naman pagsabayin, y not db? pero every person meron sariling desire/strong and weak points. pero lahat din naman ng bagay may paraan. kung gusto mo magkaron both you have to double your efforts. walang hindi maaachieve kung may tyaga, walang bagay ang unattainable sa taong may mission and vision. =) "best of both worlds" ika nga. kung baga sa mga athletes MULTI CHAMPION ka.

    i have been into cardio by doing mtbiking and running. i can say i have the endurance. i can ride my bike all day long, i can run 10 to 20k easy, girls are amazed at my stamina considering my body type (wink wink hehe).. but i was very surprised to find out how weak i am in strength when i went to the gym. my numbers for the basic lifts (deadlifts, squats, bench press, etc) are humiliatingly low!!

    personally, i think endurance is more of an attitude conditioning, while strength is more physical. your mind will dictate how far you go, but your muscles will dictate how much you will lift.

    having the endurance, now i am going for strength!
