It may have something do with the convex shape of the camera lens than a flat (neutral) plane of a mirror, convex tends to make objects smaller. You can try altering the perspective by taking an image from below.

weigh it cooked, when cooking dont use any oil, let it cook in its own juices,

i cook 2kilos of beef at a time, in a big pot, i let it cook until most of the liquid has evaporated, no oil, let it cook in its own lard...then add tablespoon of dried chilis, 200ml of soy sauce, half a teaspoon of rock salt, small can of chik peas, large can of mushrooms and corn...let it simmer for 15mins...ready to serve
the pork sirlion i just cook it in butter, medium heat
