Hello mga tropa, my name is AJ Panganiban from Batangas City. Baka po matutulungan nyo ako kasi first timer po in gym business. Any tips or suggestions po ay makakatulong. Marami pong salamat!

Hehehehe Last year I started sa Crossfit Batangas (less machine.. less equipment) pero na appreciate ko ng sobra kasi i natapyas ng almost 20kg ako in span of 6 months. What I like most sa kanila was yung bar nila... they are using oly bar. But unfortunately nag relocate na yun gym na yun sa bauan' which is traffic na namn. but some of the members na taga city or even taga dyan sa gulod ay nagpamember sa bauan at ako (dumadalaw minsan dun).
If its a typical gym then invest ka sa bar' buy an oly bar... dont get the 1inch bar ba yun... at lilipat kami sa yo.
good luck sa business sir.
I guess when it comes to oly bar eh ndi nagkakalayo price nun' more or less 7k isa. Time to time pumupunta ako ng P.GArcia at Bauan para mag gym because of trainer knowing taga kumintang ako. :huh
Sir may I know the equipment you wish to buy to start to?
Please, don't bother with the Smith machine
Maganda rin na may dip stations (parallel and v-shape to accommodate different people) at pull up stations. Dedicate a spacious area for deadlifting
Dumbbells up to 100 lbs
Maglagay ka rin ng friendly reminders "As courtesy to our fellow lifters, NO CURLING IN THE POWER CAGE / SQUAT RACK. Thank you"
I know this may be too much for a start-up but I think it's worth the investment
The study's result is based on 40 to 50 person per day. Have you checked the location of your planned gym ? Do you think you can reach that foot traffic ?
Where was the study conducted ? Length of the study ?
At isa pa, bawasan mo yung machines. Tanggalin mo yung Smith machine at Pec Dec. Better to invest your money on a power cage
I agree with sir @nrg500 yun study might not be applicable for everyone, especially sa case mo sir' habang putol pa un tulay, do you think makaka 40 - 50 pax ka? It is a given factor sa city natin walang magandang gym, ano meron ang gym mo para lumipat kami sayo? A lot of factors to consider sir. and if your open sa idea about crossfit... sa bauan meron pde kita samahan, sabay ka sa amin pag nag work out kami dun. Hehehehe
And yes I agree bawasan mo yung machine' I'm not a pro pero I think yung package ng gym-depot ay business point of view... pero sir nagbubuhat ka din i think alam mo din or idea ano un talaga kelangan. :-) try to ask yung mga tao dito sa PBB' and pagaralan mo yung mga sagot, i think it will help u a lot. Sir ako eto lang hanapin ko sa gym mo - flat, incline & decline bench, cable crossover machine, squat rack, dumbbells, oly bar, ez bar.
1. Pwede mag ab work out ANYWHERE kahit sa CR at kahit nakatayo sa isang sulok.
So si nrg500 more on the strength training (PL included) point of view, si fatmonkey naman crossfit and majority sa bodybuilding naman. With a limited budget, hindi mo mapo-provide lahat ng needs ng mga tao na yan. Take note also na 90% ng pumupunta sa gym ay newbies (less than 3 years lifting of whatever goal) so they basically dont need the UNNECESSARY stuff (unless they wanna complicate things), unnecessary equipments, space and toys.
Kung may budget ka man para maprovide yung mga trip ng different breeds of lifters, question is... ano ba ang target market mo? anong image ng gym mo? Kadalasan ng successful gyms may identity. Pinupuntahan sila ng tao for that reason. Also, if you have all those products, kelangan may mga experienced/competent coaches ka kasi sila magdadala ng pangalan ng gym mo. Kung wala naman good coaches, better give free membership to local bodybuilders and athletes within the area para maka attract ka ng tao.
goodluck
Sorry, Cross Fit is shit and I wouldn't even call it a sport
Watch the videos below and you'll understand why. Listen to the commentary also

Then that's your point of view and maybe most of the PBB yun din. I've seen the video before ko pasukin yung crossfit. Now, they said its a sport and even some claim na crossfit athletes sila... but i don't even care. I think its my personality kung bakit ko napasok yung crossfit... hindi kasi ako basta basta nakikinig. :huh marami na rin nagsabi sa akin na its full of shit... hindi daw ako matotone... hindi daw lalaki ang katawan ko dun.... and many more. But i still tried it at kung tama sila then I will support them... after doing crossfit wod for 5 months... yes so far TOTOO, hindi lumaki katawan ko, hindi na tone BUT I lost 24 lbs, better endurance and it made me quit smoking. Bakit ko nagustuhan? Maybe because yung idea ng WOD na you need to have the best time. I used to be a dragon boat paddler and one of the discipline is to finish the race as fast as possible.
Ngaun crossfit ay parang once in a blue moon na lang sa akin coz i believed nga na hindi mag totone katawan ko dun so I'm in a body split program.
My point of view, as long as you enjoy doing it, don't give a damn if others call it SHIT.
kahit puro swing ung pullups nya mahirap pa din yun
I'm not get generalizing, it's specific to Cross Fit
Have you watched the video ? Have you seen the deadlift of the woman in orange shirt ? Perhaps they shouldn't call it a deadlift coz the deadlift I know has a standard in form and in execution
Cross Fit is a blasphemy to weight lifting (power lifting or bodybuilding)
Kipping pull ups
Kipping dips
Kipping muscle ups
etc...
Well, that is just my opinion. If anyone here believes or practices Cross Fit, I'll let them be. I would not force them to stop it
Just saying
Peace, bro
