IMHO, comparing yourself to yourself is parang counter productive in terms of Goal-setting. How can you set your desired goal if wala kang basis or inspiration to achieve it. Parang nagbato ka ng bato sa ere ng walang target. At least having a mental picture of that goal in mind will put you in the right path be it STR or SIZE or whatever. Kumbaga, what do the best people in the field that I want to excel do?
People look up to inspirations, telling themselves that one day magiging ganun ka. Not saying that you need to be exactly the same but becoming the BEST version of yourself.
Ang masama sa comparing yourself to others is how you look at it. it's either you become motivated or you become jealous/miserable.

Point taken! Though my whole point the "compare yourself only to yourself" statement is this. Kadalasan kasi we keep comparing ourselves (sometimes getting too obsessed w/ it) to many "greats" way too much that most of them fail to see what they are supposed to be doing in order to progress and also "fail to appreciate" where they have gotten by far to their journey kasi all they see is the end result that they want (nothing is wrong w/ that, at least to a certain extent) and worst case if they're not satisfied w/ the way they progress they quit.
I'm all for setting very high goals by all means in fact, Some of the goals I have eyes on are quite borderline impossible by far as very few were only able to manage to get there. For me kasi, I can separate "setting goals" w/ simply comparing myself to others especially to my heroes in this art we've chosen. So the point i guess that i've forgotten to say is "Aim for great goals, learn from the greats, but don't forget that you are what you are and they are what they are". So don't keep comparing yourself to the people that grow/get bigger way better/faster than you to the point that you lose sight of "to whom do you really owe your success" (w/c is for yourself) that you are aiming for.
